This new-build apartment in Camberwell was designed for a young expat couple whose lifestyle is shaped by travel, design, and hosting. With careers spanning the wine industry and design within the tech sector, the brief called for a home that feels calm ,and highly practical.
Given the compact footprint of the flat, our focus was on creating a cohesive Japandi-inspired living, dining, and kitchen space that maximises functionality without compromising on atmosphere. Clean lines, natural textures, and a restrained palette form the foundation, while bespoke joinery provides discreet storage throughout. A compact bar area was seamlessly integrated, allowing the clients to host intimate dinners and gatherings with ease.
As frequent travellers, the couple required a home that is low-maintenance, intuitive, and adaptable, supporting both everyday living and extended stays by visiting friends. Each element was carefully designed to serve a clear purpose, resulting in a space that feels uncluttered and effortless.
In contrast to the main living areas, the home office / guest bedroom introduces a deeper, moodier palette. Dark-toned bespoke joinery anchors the room, creating a sense of intimacy, while playful design objects add character and reflect the clients’ creative sensibilities. The space comfortably transitions between a focused workspace and a welcoming guest room.
